In response to another critical report on the state of Ysbyty Glan Clwyd’s A&E department, Plaid Cymru’s North Wales MS Llyr Gruffydd said:

“It’s no surprise that there aren’t major improvements happening in our health service when existing staff are so over-stretched and the right package is not in place to retain and recruit new health professionals. The problem has intensified due to the pressures of the Covid pandemic but this is nothing new, I’m afraid. It’s not very helpful to have senior management apologising once again for the same old problems.

Kronospan fire report: What is going on?

A North Wales Member of the Senedd is asking new questions about the long-delayed report into the 2020 fire at the Kronospan plant at Chirk .

Plaid Cymru’s North Wales MS Llyr Gruffydd, who has consistently called for the publication of the report into the fire at the woodchip factory, said he was astounded that Wrexham Council had only asked for all relevant information from the North Wales Fire and Rescue Service THREE years after the incident on January 23rd, 2023.

A North Wales MS is calling for a new not-for-profit agency to be set up to provide staffing cover and save money for the NHS.

Llyr Gruffydd, who represents the region in the Senedd, spoke out after hearing Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB), spent an “eye-watering” £48.8 million on agency and bank staff supplied by privately-run companies in 2021-22.

Praise for retiring chair over restoration of ancient well
