MS welcomes Denbighshire school pupils to the Senedd

An MS has welcomed pupils from two Denbighshire primary schools to the Senedd.

Llŷr Gruffydd, who represents North Wales in the Senedd, spoke to eager learners from Ysgol Pant Pastynog, in Prion, near Denbigh, and Ysgol Tremeirchion, about how the parliament works and his work representing constituents.

The Plaid Cymru politician who is his party’s Shadow Minister for Rural Affairs, said: “It was an absolute pleasure to welcome this group of eager pupils from Ysgol Pant Pastynog and Ysgol Tremeirchion to our national parliament to talk to them about my role as a Member of the Senedd.

“They showed a real passion for making the country a better place and demonstrated a real keenness to learn by asking a number of challenging and thought-provoking questions.

“They wanted to know about my work as a Senedd member, how they could engage more with politics through the Senedd and wanted to know how they could push issues that are important to them higher up the political agenda.

“The Senedd takes important decisions that impact the day to day lives of young people and their families, so it’s vital for our democracy here in Wales that they get to understand how it works and know how to engage with it.

“It’s always hugely encouraging and an inspiration to see enthusiastic young people taking such an active interest in Welsh politics.”
