MS praises ‘impressive’ Denbighshire pupils on Parliament Week visit

An MS has praised the “impressive” questions asked by pupils at a Denbighshire primary school following a visit during Parliament Week.

Llyr Gruffydd, who represents North Wales in the Senedd, had an opportunity to speak with school children at Ysgol Penmorfa, in Prestatyn, about his role standing up for constituents and scrutinising the work of the Welsh Government.

The Plaid Cymru politician, who is his party’s Shadow Minister for Rural Affairs, was also given a tour of the school by pupils, and was shown the kitchen, the garden and the builders yard that they use.

Llyr Gruffydd MS said: “It was an absolute pleasure to visit Ysgol Penmorfa during Parliament Week to talk about my role as a Member of the Senedd for North Wales.

“The children showed a keen interest in how democracy works in Wales and asked thoughtful and impressive questions.

“They clearly demonstrated that young people are eager to be engaged in politics, and that they want to know about the work of the Senedd given its direct impact on so many aspects of their lives.

“Fostering this kind of positive engagement from young people with the Senedd is vital for the future of our democracy in Wales.

“I would like to say a thank you to the pupils at Ysgol Penmorfa and all the members of staff at the school for the warm welcome.”
