A: I was taken off my dentist list as an nhs patient during covid as i didnt go for a check up during this time. I was put on a two year waiting list to rejoin. In the mean time i had dental problems and needed an extraction, i had to pay privately for it done. I am now re registered as an nhs patient with my original dentist after a long wait.

A: The service I get from my dentist is very good but I have to pay for the privilege. It is definitely a two-tier service and, as a private patient, I get whisked through to a separate waiting area and have no problem getting appointments etc. I don’t pay so that I receive a better service than NHS patients. I pay because there is no option to become an NHS patient.
